These high speed winches were supplied to another manufacturer to incorporate into their own drive and control systems. The design cable load is 3,000N with a cable speed of 10 metres/sec. Maximum drum speed is 1,000 rpm. The cable size can be changed between 3 and 5mm and different spockets can be fitted to give the correct drive ratio for the pay-on gear.

The system was designed for a specificic application for the client with calculations carried out to keep the weight and drum inertia down to a minimum. Drum strength was calculated using our own calculation methods for mult-layered drums which were backed up using a finite element analysis system.
