December 2012 - Brazilian Air Force order winch

A new Skylaunch Evo twin drum winch and new cable retrieve winch are ordered by the Brazilian Air Force.    
 
November 2012 - Skylaunch invited to Norwegian Annual Gliding Convention

Skylaunch are invited to the Annual Gliding Convention in beautiful Norway to give a formal presentation on Glider Winch Launching. Two gliding clubs are also visited for fact finding and advising.  
October 2012 - Aerostat winches for US Military

Two new high torque Aerostat winches (one single ‘extra capacity’ drum and one twin drum) are developed for the USA military.

 
  
September 2012 - Evo twin drum for Berlin

A new Skylaunch Evo twin drum winch (8.2 litre engine fuelled by LPG) is delivered to Berlin Gliding club in Germany and lifted onto their truck with the Skylaunch lifting rig. This winch is using Dyneema cable – 3500 metres on each drum! (So far with 3000 metres used, launch heights are exceeding 1200 metres).

A Dutch wiz winch from our stock begins its re-engineering program.
June 2012 - New Aerostat winch

A new compact general purpose and Aerostat winch is developed for an Aerostat manufacturer in England.

 
June 2012 - RAF winch upgraded

One of the fleet of RAF GSA (Royal Air Force Gliding and Soaring Association) original Skylaunch winches from RAF Cosford has a paint re-spray and upgrades to the later specifications (automatic tow-out brakes, new cable pulley / roller units and a full service). All major components (engine / transmission / final drive etc) are still in very good working order and only require oils and filters to be changed. This winch is now using Skyrope cable.
 
May 2012 - Re-engineering kit supplied to Danish GC

A full re-engineering kit is supplied to Nordsjaellands Gliding Club in Denmark for their old Tost winch (with 8.2 litre engine fuelled by petrol). This winch is using Skyrope cables.  

 
 
  
April 2012 - Re-engineered Tost with wheelchair lift

A fully re-engineered Tost winch (with 7.4 litre engine fuelled by petrol) including a specially developed wheelchair lift system (powered by the normal winch battery) is exhibited at the Aero show in Friedrichshafen, Germany. It is then delivered to the newly re-sited Planeurs d’Ille-et-Vilaine Gliding Club close to Rennes in France. This winch is using Skyrope cables.
 
  
March 2012 - Evo winch & Retrieve winch for Le Mans

A new Skylaunch Evo (with 8.2 litre engine fuelled by LPG) and a new Skylaunch cable retrieve winch (fuelled by LPG) are both delivered to Le Mans Gliding Club in France.

November 2011 - Skylaunch 3 for China

A new Skylaunch 3 twin drum winch (with 8.2 litre EFI engine fuelled by petrol) is shipped to Beijing Gliding Club in China. The Chinese winch operator visited Lasham Gliding Club in England for training. This winch is using Skyrope cables.
 
  
September 2011 - 6 Drum Skydrive completed

The new, 6 Drum, "SkyDrive" is now complete and is working successfully at Oerlinghausen in Germany
 
October 2011 - Electric winch delivered to Chanet, France

The new Skylaunch 3 (electric) twin drum winch is delivered to Chanet Gliding Club in France. This winch is using Skyrope cables.

September 2011 - 8.2 L winch for AVSA Sene Les Alpes

A new Skylaunch Evo twin drum winch (with 8.2 litre engine fuelled by LPG) is delivered to AVSA Seyne Les Alpes Gliding Club in France. This winch is using Skyrope cables
August 2011 - Skylaunch Evo for Le Geolands, France

A new Skylaunch Evo twin drum winch (with 8.2 litre EFI engine fuelled by petrol) is delivered to Le Goelands Gliding Club in France. This winch is using Skyrope cables.
 
July 2011 - Electric Winch on Trial

The Skylaunch Electric Winch has been completed and is currently undergoing trials before being shipped to France later this month. Initial testing at Stratford Gliding Club was very positive with only minor "tweaks" required to finish it off.
 
 
  
July 2011 - 6 Drum Skydrive nears completion

The new, 6 Drum, "SkyDrive" winch nears completion and is due to be shiped to Oerlinghausen in Germany in a few weeks time.
