The fiirst new SkyDrive 6D now been completed, tested and is working successfully at Oerlinglausen in Germany.

Skydrive system features the same proven components from the popular Skylaunch 2 models, but in a longditudinal driveline layout to increase the number of cable drums to 4 or 6.
Skydrive will accommodate all materials of cable (synthetic, steel or Skyrope) up to 3,000 metres (10,000 ft) long per drum (5mm Ø).
Four or six drum models can be truck mounted or fitted with wheels.
Various standard options available or winch can be custom manufactured to suit customers’ requirements.

	Skylaunch Skydrive winches incorporate folding cable pulley/roller and guillotine units, lengthening distance to drum to eliminate need for any pay-on (level wind). The new winch layout gives excellent accessibility for maintenance and the new cab gives excellent visibility not just for launching but also for visibility over the roller box area.
Drum selection by simple rotary switch with safety interlocks, operating industrial linear actuators with no air or hydraulic systems. Simple colour coded controls for easy launching. Skylaunch preset selections for glider air speed/tension and head wind speed control, with acceleration rate throttle damper.

Easy opening covers with gas spring assistors and one piece sliding engine cover to give excellent access for both routine maintenance and servicing.

Available with: diesel / LPG / duel fuel / petrol or electric power units the Skydrive winches feature a new simple, heavy duty belt drive reduction system to the drums and the well proven drum selectors and roller box systems.

Folding cable pulley/roller and guillotine units lift and lock up narrowing winch to legal width for highway transport.

	Fully enclosed cabin with 2 doors, upholstered panels, cushioned rubber floor, all round laminated 6.4mm safety glass, bronze tint in doors and rear window (optional steel mesh hinging guards).
	Ventilation - 2 speed fan with heater (optional air conditioning).
	Seating - Cushioned Vinyl bench seat.

CONTROL PANEL/ CONTROLS	Glider power/ speed control - Pre-select system for glider type and headwind component (with override). Throttle lever damper safely controls acceleration rate.
	Control console - Includes drive and drum brake levers with master cylinder, throttle lever and mechanism, cable etc. (4D & 6D have remote master cylinders)
	Equipment - Control panel lights, switches, warning buzzer and temperature gauge. Roof top rotating beacon and emergency siren.
	Neutral light - illuminates when drum ‘Neutral’ selected.
	Netral buzzer - sounds if drums not in neutral when ignition off
	Communication - Remote controlled signal lamp on rooftop. Radio mounting bracket with power supply (Std in Premium & Skydrive).
